In brief: Huzzah! My annual on-air visit with the outstanding Parker Molloy, formerly of Upworthy and now editor-at-large for Media Matters for America. We spend some time on her NYT op-ed on Twitter’s “safety” update which now explicitly states that deadnaming transgender people is harassment worthy of expulsion from the platform. (GOODBYE, MEGHAN MURPHY!) Most of our chat is a deep dive into the state of media, including the ongoing collapse of newsrooms, the false equivalency (“both sides!”) epidemic, how the media could do better, and some strategy for watching the imminent primary election shitshow.
