In brief: When we (the cultural “we”) discuss teens and pregnancy/contraception, our focus is almost always shaming teens who choose to parent. Reminder: this show supports all those who desire parenthood as well as all those who seek to end a pregnancy.
This week, advocate and lawyer-to-be Caroline Reilly is back to discuss one of her passion areas: foster teens and the undue burdens they face when it comes to all aspects of reproductive healthcare — from proper, useful, comprehensive sex ed to contraception to the infuriating system of “judicial bypass” imposed disproportionately on young people already facing substantial challenges. We also chat about Caroline’s article “Losing Your Job for Sexual Harassment Is Not a Violation of Due Process”; it’s a bit baffling that we need to say any of it out loud, but there it is.
