Activists and Faith Leaders Push Back on Fake Reproductive Health Clinics — Truthout — 05/17/2015

In brief: easy-stream audio for my latest at Truthout!

Overview:

My latest for Truthout is some GOOD NEWS on reproductive rights! Amidst the 332 anti-abortion provisions floating through state legislatures the first quarter of this year are a slate of crisis pregnancy center (CPC) regulations. CPCs outnumber full-scale reproductive health clinics about 2-1 in this country (yes, even in liberal areas like CA), so preventing them from lying to clients and injuring them physical and emotionally changes the landscape of reproductive health.

Note: Please take the time to thank Truthout by sharing the article directly from their website; they are a nonprofit outlet without the corporate sponsorship you see on so many sites and they’ve given me a space to talk about important issues that are so often ignored. Thank you!

Note: If you haven’t yet, please check out my new #GetWell2015 series! I’m detailing all the uncomfortable messiness of what it takes to get well in this country. I’m personally navigating insurance (still a thing despite ACA), talking mental health and poverty stigma, and discussing the obstacles to care.
