In brief: A round-up of my Roe anniversary pieces & appearances!
Note: I’m an activist/writer/media contributor full-time. If you can, consider supporting my work so I can do more of it by becoming a patron at PATREON or making a one-time donation through PAYPAL. Thank you!
I put out a ton of content on multiple platforms for the Roe v. Wade anniversary last week! To make it easy to find, I’m putting everything in one aggregated post. This is for everyone in every state — red, purple or blue. You already don’t have the access you think you do and what access you do have is under attack. And so…
My #Roe42 published pieces:
for Bitch Media — “In Reality, Not All Americans Have Access to Safe, Legal Abortion”
and for RH Reality Check — “Your Right to Abortion Care Is in Danger—No Matter Where You Live”
My #Roe42 radio spots (the ones with available audio) in podcast form — downloadable, iTunes and easy mobile streaming versions for each:
I was back on with my friend Matthew Filipowicz to talk about both Roe at 42 and my new #GetWell2015 series: Matthew Filipowicz Show — All About Access: #Roe42 Meets #GetWell2015 — (01/27/15)
I was also on KPFK with host Kris Welch: KPFK Spot With Kris Welch — Reproductive Justice Meets The 114th Congress — (01/24/15). The other guest — Heidi Williamson was amazing; you should follow and read her work.
The Clinic Vest Project founder — my mentor, Benita Ulisano — was interviewed in a Q&A with RH Reality Check: “A Vest That Moves People: A Q&A With Benita Ulisano of the Clinic Vest Project” by Gloria Malone. And REMINDER! CVP is doing our first vest drive; just $10 sends a vest to a clinic defense escort. We’re halfway to our goal with less than a week to go, so if you’re able, visit the fundraising page and support the work.
NARAL did a really great Storify of their #7in10forRoe campaign standing against new abortion restrictions coming out of Congress at a record clip. I’m honored to have a post included! Everyone should scan at least the beginning and see which representatives joined with NARAL in supporting reproductive healthcare access.
Note:: If you haven’t yet, please check out my new ”#GetWell2015 series! I’m detailing all the uncomfortable messiness of what it takes to get well in this country. I’m personally navigating insurance (still a thing despite ACA), talking mental health and poverty stigma, and discussing the obstacles to care.
