#ProtectTheZone — Initial #McCullen Thoughts

Note: This is what I do now, full-time. I’m completely committed to changing the face of clinic access in this country. If you can, consider supporting my work so I can do more of it by clicking HERE and making a one-time or recurring (just click the box) contribution. All the funding goes to equipment, travel to other conferences/clinics/meetings with pro-choice legislators/training new escort programs and supplies. Thank you!

In my new piece at BradBlog, I break down my initial feelings on the Supreme Court’s unanimous McCullen v Coakley decision. The title basically says it all: “‘Open Season on Reproductive Healthcare Clinics’: A Clinic Escort Responds to Today’s Supreme Court ‘Buffer Zone’ Decision”

Please take the time to thank Brad Friedman by sharing the article directly from his website; he operates without the corporate sponsorship you see on so many sites and he has made space on his platform for the issues I write and speak about. Oh, and take time to comment if you would. Brad is getting the crap I’m used to, but that he probably hasn’t had to hear much before. Let him know you appreciate the coverage and support his outspoken advocacy. Thank you!

Usually I include some stuff here, but I really link to almost everything I read and talked about yesterday in my piece. And there’s going to be a TON MORE of it. So, just come on back as I’ll be posting a bunch on this topic as we learn more about what the decision means. If you want to check on whether or not your city/county/state has a buffer/bubble zone and start asking you elected officials to defend it should it be challenged, The National Abortion Federation has a long, but well organized, pdf: ”Legal Remedies To Address Clinic Violence and Harassment”.

The graphic is from Megan Smith at The Repeal Hyde Project where she regularly gives the bird to the prohibition on federally funding abortion care. She’s amazing; you should check out the project.
